Ocimum tenuiflorum (Rama Tulsi)
Certified Organic Tulsi Rama, grown from seed and hand-harvested on our farm at La Ferme À Ciel Sur Mer in Charlevoix, Québec. Known in Ayurveda as the "Queen of Herbs," tulsi is one of the most versatile daily adaptogens — peppery, clove-warm, and gentle enough for everyday tea.
🌿 Why Our Tulsi Rama
- Certified Organic, grown on our farm in Quebec
- Started from seed each spring; harvested at peak essential oil concentration
- Dried at low heat to preserve the volatile aromatic compounds
- Direct from farm to you — no warehousing, no months on a shelf
The quality is visible: vibrant green leaves, a clean peppery clove fragrance, and intact leaf structure rather than the dust and stems you'll often find in commodity tulsi.
🌱 Key Benefits
- Adaptogenic — supports the body's response to everyday stress
- Calms the nervous system while sharpening focus
- Traditional support for respiratory health and seasonal immunity
- Versatile across teas, tinctures, infused honey, and culinary preparations
Which Variety?
We grow Rama Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) — the most accessible and widely used form of holy basil. It's milder than Krishna and more cooling than Vana, with a sweet clove note that works beautifully in daily tea. For the differences between the main tulsi varieties, see our guide to the types of tulsi.
How to Use
Steep one teaspoon of dried leaves in hot (not boiling) water for five to ten minutes. For full preparation methods — tinctures, infused honey, and pairings — see our guide to tulsi benefits and how to use it. If you're new to tulsi and wondering how it differs from culinary basil, see our guide to holy basil vs basil.
